The kitchen, with its many pipe, hoses, and faucets can be a breeding ground for a mold issue. There are a few places where we find the most problematic when it comes to mold in the kitchen:
Cause: The garbage can; garbage is moist and with old food can grow mold
Solution: Take out your garbage daily
The disposal; mold likes all the junk that hangs out in there
Solution: Run once a day and pour vinegar in once a week
The refrigerator: holds old and food that will start to mold
Solution: check daily for old contents
Under the sink: wet, dry, areas can be a breeding ground for mold
Solution: make sure your pipes under the sink are not leaking or dripping
Surfaces that are constantly wet: porous areas especially can be a spot where mold grows
Solution: Make sure you dry all wet areas and wipe down all surfaces once a week with vinegar.
Having a well ventilated kitchen will keep your kitchen’s mold growth. The humidity from steam, ovens, and stoves can make the kitchen a place where mold will grow quickly.
When we have to remove mold in a kitchen the family’s “meeting spot” is not available and can be a big hassle for the whole family. Most of the time we have to pull out all of the cabinets and appliances. Depending on the situation all or some of the kitchen must be contained and sealed. Our Technicians will do their best to get their jobs done quickly and efficiently so you can have your kitchen mold free.
